We started with the plan we wanted as an overview and they brought Oscar in as the architect. He came in and drew all the plans up after we knew what we wanted (wide open spaces, etc.) He extended the dining area into an office. “Following a recommendation from our General Contractor, Design Services Northwest Inc. reviewed our custom home plans. We had purchased them on-line and we wanted to confirm they would meet the local building codes for Spokane County. From the first phone call, Oscar was pleasant, helpful and a wealth of information. He was able to take the CAD files we had and engineered a required shear wall design. In addition to providing the necessary plans to meet code, he was able to trim thousands off the lumber budget by re-engineering the foundation and framing plan. After reviewing and approving the plans, he took them to the county building department and acquired the building permits on our behalf. As a computer draftsman myself, I appreciated the detail and quality that Oscar put into our custom home project. After spending $21,000 for un-buildable set of house plans from a reputable local architect, I brought those plans to him with my ideas of what I really wanted, dimensions and materials I liked most. With my notes and scribbles, visions and preferences, he drew a plan that passed codes, was economical to build and understandable to the craftsmen.

Oscar puts his heart into what he does. He doesn’t just draw straight lines – he brings space together that works and doesn’t bankrupt the home owner. I love to design and build funky spaces. Where some architects with whom I’ve spoken say, “I don’t know…..” and builders say, “That’s impossible, can’t be built or can’t pass code….” Oscar makes it reality. That’s a gift.
